What To Expect At The Business Travel Show Europe and Travel Tech Show 2026

News & views across travel

I’m excited to attend both the Business Travel Show Europe and Travel Tech Show 2026 at ExCeL London later this month. These events have long been important fixtures to many in the business travel calendar and provides a great chance to discuss what comes next for our sector.

For me, however, the real value of these events isn’t simply seeing the latest products or hearing predictions about the future. It’s about validating the direction we’re already taking at Your Travel Corporate (YTC) and identifying new opportunities to help our clients travel smarter, more efficiently and more sustainably.

LEADING THE WAY IN TECHNOLOGY

Over the past 18 months, we’ve invested heavily in technology, automation and service delivery. As I outlined in my recent predictions for business travel in 2026, the industry is moving rapidly towards more integrated travel management, greater use of real-time data and a stronger focus on sustainability. These are not trends we’re waiting to react to – they’re areas where YTC is already actively evolving.

One of the biggest themes I expect to see across both shows is the continued rise of intelligent travel technology. Artificial intelligence, automation, predictive analytics and integrated booking platforms will dominate conversations. The Travel Tech Show has already highlighted AI, automation, payments innovation and data analytics as key areas of focus for 2026, reflecting what businesses are increasingly demanding from their travel programmes.

ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE JOURNEYS

At YTC, we firmly believe technology should enhance the travel experience rather than complicate it. That’s why we’ve focused on creating seamless booking and management processes that remove administrative burden while giving businesses greater visibility and control. Our clients want fast, intuitive tools, but they also want confidence that their travel programme is being managed strategically and responsibly.

This brings me to another major theme I expect to dominate discussions: the balance between technology and human expertise.

While self-service technology continues to improve, business travel remains a people-driven industry. Travellers still need support when flights are cancelled, itineraries change or urgent travel requirements arise.

Businesses need expert advice on policy, cost control and traveller wellbeing. That’s why YTC continues to champion a hybrid model that combines cutting-edge technology with dedicated travel experts who understand our clients and their unique requirements.

THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL IS A SUSTAINABLE APPORACH

I also anticipate sustainability remaining high on the agenda. Corporate travel buyers are under increasing pressure to demonstrate measurable progress towards ESG objectives while maintaining business growth. The conversation is no longer about whether organisations should track their travel emissions – it’s about how effectively they can manage and reduce them.

At YTC, our commitment to responsible travel continues to grow through sustainable travel options and greater transparency across travel programmes.

SMEs CORPORATE TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS RIGHTLY ON THE RISE

Perhaps the most interesting shift we’re seeing is the convergence between large corporate travel programmes and the needs of SMEs. Historically, smaller businesses often lacked access to the sophisticated tools, reporting and support available to larger enterprises. Today, technology is changing that.

More SMEs are expecting enterprise-level service, real-time insights and strategic travel management. That aligns perfectly with YTC’s mission to provide high-quality, personalised travel solutions regardless of company size.

As I prepare to attend both shows, I’m looking forward to meeting industry partners, exploring emerging technologies and hearing fresh perspectives. But most importantly, I’m looking forward to bringing those insights back to our clients.

TECH MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT OUTSTANDING HUMAN SERVICE

The future of business travel is becoming increasingly intelligent, data-driven and sustainable. At YTC, our focus remains on ensuring those advancements translate into genuine value for the businesses we support. Technology will continue to evolve, but our commitment to exceptional service, trusted partnerships and delivering smarter travel solutions remains unchanged.

I’ll be taking our ideas and passion for the sector into Business Travel Show Europe and Travel Tech Show 2026 – see you there!
